For a business built on handshakes, a platform that brings everyone together
Since 1975, Dick Anderson Construction has built more than projects across Montana, Wyoming and now Arizona — they’ve built trust. “A lot of our success is based on relationships,” says Sean Courtney, Director of Technology & Innovation. “In Montana, a handshake still means something. Our relationships with owners, subcontractors and communities are everything.”
As DAC grew, so did the complexity of its work. Paperwork and disconnected tools threatened to slow teams down and strain critical relationships. “We needed a single project management platform,” Courtney says. “We knew Procore could do that.”
Procore’s simplicity and ease of use made it the ideal fit. “It’s one place where everyone can be on the same page,” Courtney said. “That reflects the culture here – clear, honest communication with all partners on a project.”
Today, DAC uses Procore as its single source of truth, connecting project managers, field teams, owners and subcontractors. “Emails used to be the repository for everything, but things got missed,” Courtney says. “Now, Procore makes it easy to see where we might be falling behind – whether it’s an inspection, a submittal, or an RFI – so we can get ahead of issues.”

Saving time and strengthening partnerships
The impact is measurable. DAC’s recent field survey showed Procore has saved the company thousands of hours in time and efficiency gains. That efficiency has strengthened relationships with specialty contractors by improving transparency and keeping projects moving smoothly.
Procore’s open API also lets DAC connect financials and other systems, giving teams a clear picture of project costs without leaving the platform. “It’s a one-stop shop for what’s going on in our projects,” Courtney said.
And for DAC, Procore is more than software – it’s a true partner. The company frequently beta tests new Procore tools, including equipment management, forecasting and Procore Insights. “They don’t design tools in a vacuum,” Courtney says. “They work directly with us to make them better.”
Courtney sees even greater potential ahead with AI. “There’s a lot of fear around AI, but it can take away limitations and let us use tools in a more human way,” he says. “Instead of everyone having to think the same way to use software, AI lets us approach it naturally and still get the information we need.”
Building better together
At DAC, relationships will always come first – and Procore fits right in. “Procore became part of our team,” Courtney says. “They’re not an external tool. They’re part of every project, right alongside us, always part of the solution.”
