The Challenge

Apache Industrial runs some of the toughest industrial projects in North America, coordinating thousands of craft workers across high-risk environments. But critical data often lived in silos, reports lagged behind progress and leaders lacked visibility into project health. Apache needed a unified platform to capture field data instantly, generate actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making.

The Solution

Apache Industrial launched its InOneTM platform with Procore as the foundation. Using Procore’s project controls, mobile access and analytics tools, Apache standardized reporting, automated workflows and created custom live dashboards for a wide range of stakeholders. The result: faster insights, stronger collaboration and measurable improvements in safety, productivity and costs.

Adapting ‘All-In’ for the age of data

Apache Industrial has been a trusted partner to industrial and commercial clients across North America for more than 55 years. Known for its expertise in scaffolding, insulation, coatings and other specialty services, Apache stands out for its ability to execute complex projects safely and at scale. With more than 10,000 craft workers hired each year, the company combines deep experience with a culture it calls All-In — a tradition rooted in safety, innovation and accountability. As Apache grew, leadership saw an overlooked opportunity: the company was capturing enormous amounts of valuable information on its job sites, but it wasn’t being used to its full potential. The data was siloed, reporting was inconsistent and decisions too often relied on intuition. Apache needed a way to bring technology “closer to the craft” so that field data could flow seamlessly into the hands of supervisors, customers and owners. This vision became the foundation of the InOne platform, with Procore at its core. “In early 2020, Apache identified a lack of tech and data in our industry and set out to change that,” said Kurtis Kim, VP of Information Technology. “By introducing tools to manage work directly at the field level, we can more consistently control projects, measure performance and use real-time data to raise the level of support in the field.”

A platform that allows craft workers to turn observations into action

InOne enables workers to capture progress updates, inspections and incidents on iPads and mobile devices directly on the job site. Procore’s project controls and mobile functionality feed that information into a robust data pipeline, standardizing reports and automating time-consuming tasks. Predictive analytics highlight risks early, while AI-assisted takeoffs accelerate estimating with improved accuracy. With manual tasks automated and standardized, teams can spend less time chasing paperwork and more time focusing on problem-solving, mentoring and strategic planning.

“Expanding tablets and mobile tools into the field was about more than just collecting data,” said Jason Barron, Director of Project Controls. “Now, with live dashboards, project managers can make data-driven decisions on site and update customers directly in the field. Procore and InOne give us everything ‘in one’ platform.”

The platform has also allowed Apache to build custom dashboards for a wide range of stakeholders across the organization. Supervisors track work package progress in real time. Area managers see portfolio-level performance at a glance. Executives monitor financials and margins with daily accuracy. And customers receive hourly updates on safety, scaffolding maps and project milestones. This transparency has strengthened Apache’s relationships with owners and general contractors while giving internal teams a common source of truth.

“As technology matures, we’ve moved from ‘proprietary’ to ‘collaborative,” said Kim. “By using InOne to deliver full transparency, we’re building greater collaboration — and with that, greater trust — with our customers and stakeholders.”

Scaffold Project

A business steered by metrics instead of instinct

The results have been striking. Safety incidents and inspections are now documented instantly with photos, geolocation and even weather data, allowing Apache to analyze trends across projects and address issues before they become major problems. Project delays and rework have been significantly reduced, while financial reporting is more reliable and predictive. By integrating Procore data with CRM, ERP and HRIS systems, Apache leaders now steer the business with metrics, not guesswork.

By investing in InOne with Procore at the center, Apache has raised the stakes for technology leaders in industrial services. “Procore has helped us redefine what it means to be a true strategic partner, and they did it by listening to our requirements, identifying areas of improvement and truly caring about helping us achieve our vision,” said Kim.

The company has turned real-time data into a driver of safer projects, more predictable outcomes and stronger collaboration—ensuring that The Apache Way will continue to guide the company well into the future.

“With InOne, our teams and customers have access to real-time, actionable data that keeps projects on-scope, on-time and on-budget,” says CEO Stephen Hillier. “It’s how we’re using technology to redefine operational excellence and anticipate the future needs of the industries we serve.”
