Watch Video

The Challenge

Corley + Woolley used multiple systems to manage projects and one, in particular, was especially difficult to use. Not only was it slow uploading documents, but it also wasn’t user-friendly, and the business experienced low adoption from project stakeholders.

The Solution

With Procore, Corley + Woolley consolidated all project information, providing one source of truth for all collaborators. Procore was easy to use and mobile friendly which boosted adoption, improved efficiency, and standardised processes across projects and teams.

The story

Before using Procore, Corley + Woolley relied on spreadsheets, paper, and various solutions to manage projects. But without a central repository to manage documents and drawings, it was difficult for teams to find information when they needed it most.

However, the main challenge was that their current solution was exceptionally slow at uploading documents. Users—including project managers, clients, and subcontractors—thought it was cumbersome, leading to low employee adoption. What’s more, the solution lacked the training and support they needed.

Soon after rolling it out, Corley + Woolley realised they needed to find an alternative solution—one that everyone liked to use. Procore was recommended by another company, so the team decided to implement it.

Specifically, Corley + Woolley liked that they could consolidate all project information into one central location and that all collaborators could access important documents in real time. That meant greater collaboration and more efficient workflows, ensuring everyone—both on and off site—stayed aligned. The software was also user-friendly and intuitive, and users—including project managers, clients, and subcontractors—picked it up easily. Plus, they had the training resources and support they needed.

‘When clients like the software solution you use, then they are more likely to bring you back for other jobs. Procore is perfect for that—our clients have taken to it’, explains Senior Document Controller Karen Gamble.

What’s more, Procore aligned with the company’s processes and workflows. "Construction management software wasn't specific to the building industry back then’, says Gamble. ‘Now it is. It's tailored exactly to the way everyone wants to work. Everyone can pick it up quickly’.

This helped the team save 2 or more hours a day just in uploading documents alone. ‘You haven't got spreadsheets for this, that, and the other. You can pull reports so quickly for meetings and it's transparent. Everyone is more accountable on there—you can see where an item is outstanding and you can push things along a lot quicker than on any other system that I've ever seen’, says Gamble.

What made this even more powerful was that with Procore’s mobile functionality, teams could view, track, and update items at any moment—from anywhere.

‘I can use Procore on the way to work, on the way home from work, or while I'm at work walking around’, says Construction Manager Christopher Rooney.

Gamble adds, ‘When teams are doing the snagging, they have the Procore app on their phones which they can use to take pictures. It’s much easier. Instead of them sending me pictures and then I upload them, it's so much quicker this way. With RFIs and technical submittals, all they have to do is write the RFI and upload it—it takes two minutes. And it even works when you’re offline. Then when they’re online, it will automatically update’.

For Corley + Woolley, implementing a single streamlined solution wasn’t just about efficiency gains. It also brought real, tangible benefits to their employees.

‘Procore makes my life easier and the subcontractors' life easier’, says Gamble. ‘It makes everyone's life easier because everyone’s involved and knows where the project is going from start to end’.
