Important Update: Legacy Workflows (V1) & APIs Will Be Retired on September 1, 2026. The new “Enhanced Workflows" feature, designed to replace legacy workflows, offers a more efficient and streamlined process for managing projects. This update provides significant value to architects, engineers, general contractors, and other stakeholders by simplifying workflow management, reducing manual tasks, and improving overall project efficiency.
This early notice gives your team 14 months to plan your transition to the new Workflows experience. We understand that Legacy Workflows may include features your team relies on today, and we’re committed to closing key functionality gaps ahead of the deprecation date.
What’s Coming Before Deprecation
To support a smooth upgrade, we’re prioritizing the following enhancements prior to September 1, 2026:
In-Flight Workflow Continuity You’ll be able to complete and respond to V1 workflows even after upgrading. Instead of starting from scratch, users can pick up where they left off in the new Workflows interface.
Step Override (Granular Permissions) A new permission setting will allow designated users to respond to workflow steps on someone else’s behalf, when enabled by your admin. This replaces the "respond on behalf of" capability in Legacy.
Filterable History Panel We’re improving the side panel experience to make it easier to find attachments and workflow history, matching the visibility you had in Legacy.
Please note: The enhancements listed above are subject to change. It is our full intention to close these functionality gaps within the scope of how Workflows operates in the Procore platform, and we will continue to provide updates as we make progress.
