Creating a Culture Where Bad News Travels Fast

Details

Session #4 of our Portfolio Governance webinar series tackles the most human dimension of tech readiness: early warning signs only travel upward when team members trust that surfacing a problem will not make them the problem. The session explores the cultural and governance conditions that produce bad data. Not system failures, but people choosing not to enter accurate information because experience has taught them it will be used against them.

What you'll learn...

• Why bad data is a trust problem, not a tech problem — how team members quietly withhold accurate information when experience has taught them it will be used against them.

• What governance readiness looks like — formalizing trust so early warning signs are treated as valuable data, not evidence for a post-mortem.

• How to run the two-part diagnostic — watch how your team reacts when risk is flagged, then trace your last surprise project backward to find out if honesty was ever rewarded.
