Construction change directive
A legal command initiated by the owner of a construction project, typically after a disagreement, that directs a contractor to abide by a mandatory order.
A construction change directive (CCD) is an instruction issued by the owner directing the contractor to perform work changes before the cost and time impacts are fully agreed upon. It differs from a change order in that a change order is subject to an agreement between the two parties. A CCD helps in maintaining project momentum while negotiations continue but requires careful documentation and eventual agreement on terms.
