Construction Asset Management

Asset records in Procore carry a complete change history, linked documents (submittals, inspection results, RFIs), and stage-dependent required fields that map to ISO 19650 information management obligations. Because the record is built inside the CDE your team already uses — not in a separate compliance tool — the audit trail is unbroken, traceable, and ready to present for regulatory review or owner acceptance.

Asset Management is designed to track fixed, maintainable components installed or commissioned within the built environment — things like HVAC systems, chillers, switchgear, fire protection systems, boilers, pumps, and road infrastructure elements. It is not designed for movable or temporary equipment (cranes, excavators, fleet vehicles) or materials (lumber, concrete). If you're unsure whether a specific item qualifies, the rule of thumb is: if it has a serial number, a warranty, and requires periodic maintenance, it likely does.

You can extract assets directly from your 3D model and track them visually on 2D drawings alongside physical field data. This closes the gap between design intent and installed reality — and creates an auditable chain of evidence from the approved model spec through to the passed inspection in the field. For projects where BIM-native workflows are contractually expected or increasingly mandated, this is how you demonstrate you're delivering on that commitment.

Asset Management is part of the Procore platform, not a standalone tool. It includes a Company-level Asset Register for portfolio-wide standardisation and a Project-level Asset Register for tracking assets on individual projects. You can populate either manually or bulk-import via Excel. From there, your teams link assets to the Submittals, Inspections, Observations, and Punchlists they're already running in Procore — so data capture happens in the flow of work, not as an additional step. There's no separate deployment, no separate login, and no data migration required to get started.
