Launching February 19th. Procore’s document upload experience now provides transparent, field-level feedback when automatic metadata detection fails. Users will see detection status for each metadata field (Detected / Not Detected) along with contextual explanations and corrective guidance via tooltips and a side panel. This enhancement helps users quickly understand why metadata was not detected—whether due to file naming issues, missing information, unsupported formats, or low machine learning confidence—so they can address problems immediately. Detection failures are also logged for diagnostics and ongoing quality improvements.
This update empowers uploaders to resolve issues on the spot, reducing manual rework and inconsistent metadata. Document controllers benefit from faster identification of systemic issues, while all users gain greater trust in automation through increased transparency. Ultimately, this leads to faster, more accurate uploads and supports continuous improvement of Procore’s metadata detection capabilities.
