Launching April 21st. Procore introduces Phase 1 of the Comment Register (Comment Register Light) in the 2D Unified Viewer for PDM (PDFs/Drawings), empowering users to create and track review comments as Coordination Issues (CIs) directly within active workflow steps. Now, step assignees can quickly create CIs by placing a mandatory pin on the document and entering a description—ensuring every comment is spatially anchored and easily traceable. Titles are auto-generated for speed, but remain editable, and unresolved issues persist across document revisions and workflow cycles for robust accountability.
This release focuses on streamlined creation and minor edits of CIs within the viewer, while advanced actions like closing or bulk editing remain in the main Coordination Issues tool. The new register view allows users to sort and discover comments, supporting transparent and auditable design reviews. Please note: linking existing CIs, full workflow panel integration, and mobile creation/editing are not included in this phase.
By transforming informal notes into structured, reportable Coordination Issues, this feature addresses critical feedback from EU customers and supports compliance with standards like ISO 19650. It delivers a user-friendly, trackable system that ensures every design query is captured, assigned, and managed.
