In its early days, Piety Group relied on an internal document control system and another stand-alone construction solution to manage correspondence and documents. Operating two separate systems was inefficient and reduced the company’s ability to seamlessly scale and handle growth. Experiencing a costly documentation miscommunication with a site team, they realised a centralised construction software would deliver a superior quality customer experience.

Piety Group implemented Procore Project Management, Quality & Safety and Tender Management to support the business and their high calibre staff. The value-add of a centralised construction platform would support its focus on continuous improvement and scale to reach its full growth potential.

Piety Group has a mission to embed accountability and quality in the end-to-end build process, across all teams.  They built a team to implement and support the rollout of Procore on live projects with their staff and contractors—prioritising drawings and documentation first. They also integrated Zoom,  Blue Glue, Microsoft 365 and Procore for Outlook for better collaboration and visibility across the business.

Continuously Improving the Experience

Piety Group implemented Procore slowly, ‘tool by tool’, to ensure all users would understand the company’s quality and safety benchmarks. Accountability and quality standards improved immediately. The Procore Defects tool bolsters and tracks quality processes, with usage of the tool increasing to 500% almost immediately. The result? Tracking and allocating defects to the responsible party, including subcontractors, has helped embed quality assurance into the company’s construction standards.

In doing this, a backlog of quality challenges experienced before Procore’s implementation were revealed.

"We have been able to data-mine our RFIs and allocate the right resources where they are needed. The flow and ease of Procore mean we have accelerated mining of our defects inspection data, identified recurring issues and are resolving them faster than ever before," continued Ben.

Piety Group has used Procore to build a Quality Dashboard and Monthly Report benchmarking how quality drives its build and business outcomes.

"Constant focus and dedication to improvement is part of our culture whether you are on staff or a subcontractor. Making everyone more visibly accountable helps us to further train and support our team. We know it's a learning journey, and we want to invest in people. Our goal is to work with the best and setting quality standards in black and white leaves no room for miscommunication," said Muhammed.

"Procore has given our team the tools to hold our contractors accountable for non-performance and breaches of our policies and procedures. This has made it a more efficient process in resolving defects and training contractors to work to our quality and safety benchmarks," he said.

And when it comes to impending legislation changes around the quality of buildings delivered to consumers, Piety Group welcomes new standards.

"For builders like us delivering quality builds, it gives us more time to shine. Quality is what we have always stood for, and consumers will be better educated about what to look for."
