More Detail On Procore's Project Daily Job Log Screen

Procore’s Daily Log page offers several features that make it unique among construction project management software packages. Procore’s Daily Log page is much more than just a simple notes field – instead, Procore uses the power of the Internet to provide a more powerful construction software solution for project managers who need to keep track of what happens on a construction job site, each and every day of the job.

Procore begins the Daily Log page by automatically logging and archiving the daily weather report for the job site. This information is gathered via an online feed, and is then saved permanently into Procore’s database. All weather information can be supplemented by manual input in the event that site-specific conditions do not exactly match the weather feed. The archiving feature makes it easy to go back in time and establish a “weather snapshot” for any particular day, which can in turn provide proof that job tasks were completed only during the correct weather conditions. No other construction software automatically gathers and archives weather information as easily as Procore.

Procore’s Daily Log provides a Work Log that brings the power of automation to construction project management software. Instead of requiring manual entry of the tasks that were accomplished each day, Procore integrates with the construction project schedule and pre-loads the scheduled tasks for that day into the Daily Work Log. A site superintendent can accomplish his construction project management by simply clicking on the Work Log section and filling in task details, including which sub-contractors showed up on the job site, how long those sub-contractors worked for, and what percentage of each task was completed. If a particular task was not started or needs to have a finish date adjusted, the schedule can be edited from within Procore. Procore is most tightly integrated with Microsoft Project, but also supports the most popular construction project scheduling software from Primavera and AEC.

Procore is the only construction software to offer the “Phone In Your Daily Log” feature. Other construction project management software packages require their users to have a computer in order to access and fill in their daily logs. Procore knows that for most construction professionals, the cell phone is much more likely to be at hand than the laptop computer. Because of this, we’ve made it possible for notes to be added to the Daily Log page by simply phoning into Procore. Messages of up to 30-seconds in length can be dictated. Upon hanging up, a sound file of the original message, as well as a text transcription of the message, are both entered into the Procore’s Notes field on the Daily Log page for that day.

Procore’s Daily Log page is also completely customizable so that only the construction software log sections you need show up in the Daily Log. Customizing Procore is accomplished with a simple drag-and-drop interface that allows the user to specify which sections are displayed, and the order in which each section appears. Don’t need a Delivery section for a project log? Just click to hide it. Want the Safety Violation log section to appear before the Inspection section? Simply drag-and-drop and Procore will re-order the log.

All information contained in Procore’s Daily Log pages is automatically archived and saved to multiple server hard drives. Daily Logs kept in Procore won’t get left in a truck somewhere, ruined by a job site flood or fire, or lost in the file storage room. Instead, Procore archives your Daily Log entries and makes them available for export as PDF files.
