November 2, 2015

100 volunteers from the Carpinteria based company will complete a Habitat for Humanity home repair for a lowincome homeowner.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., November 2, 2015 — Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County will complete a home repair for an elderly lowincome homeowner on Friday, November 6th with volunteers from Procore Technologies. Over 100 Procore employees will volunteer to complete the repairs at the home of Sally, a 94-year-old homeowner in need of help maintaining a safe and decent place to live.

A Brush with Kindness is a program of Habitat for Humanity that helps low-income homeowners struggling to restore and maintain a safe and decent place to live. The program was created with the goal to help homeowners reclaim the pride and dignity of homeownership by offering affordable means of exterior home improvements and remain in their home.

"We are thankful for Procore's partnership as we increase the number of families served by helping homeowners stay in their homes," said Jon Peterson, Habitat for Humanity SSBC CEO. "We are grateful for Procore's support of this workday and the donation of their construction software which will help streamline a lot of our construction processes."

"Like Procore, Habitat for Humanity puts construction at the forefront of building stronger communities," said Steve Zahm, Procore President. "We're proud to be partnering with them to help build our local community."

The home repair will consist of repairing the damaged roof, replacing windows and doors, painting the exterior of the home, and clearing debris and green waste from the property.

About Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara CountyHabitat for Humanity SSBC is an independent, locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit housing organization dedicated to ending substandard housing and building strong communities in Santa Barbara. Habitat uses donations of funding, materials, professional services and volunteer labor to build simple, low-cost homes which are sold to qualified low-income families. Mortgage payments go into the Fund for Humanity and help fund the construction of additional Habitat homes. Each adult homeowner is required to contribute 250 hours of "sweat equity" into the construction of their home. Habitat for Humanity families and volunteers have built 19 homes in Southern Santa Barbara County since 2000, and have repaired 27 homes through the A Brush with Kindness program for low-income homeowners. Additionally, Habitat has participated in cooperative efforts with other nonprofit organizations including SEE International, Women's Economic Ventures, Laguna Senior Cottages, Boys and Girls Club and the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
