More Detail On Procore's Project Calendar Screen

Procore's Project Calendar offers a customizable view of the tasks entered into the construction project schedule. Unique among construction project management software packages, Procore offers a choice of views that goes beyond the standard scheduling software Gantt chart. Construction software is used by a wide range of people, who may not all have experience with construction project schedules and Gantt views. For this reason, Procore presents the construction project schedule in a calendar view, available as a daily, weekly or monthly view. Project tasks for the construction schedule are presented as individual bars. Each bar displays the task name, as well as the resource assigned to that task and the task start and finish dates.

Procore does more than simply display the tasks contained in the construction project schedule. Each task name presented on the Calendar screen is a live, clickable link which provides access to the Procore Task Detail screen. The Task Detail screen allows editing of several items for each task. This editing ability sets Procore's construction project scheduling functionality apart from other construction software.

A Procore user can choose to change the task start date, the task finish date, or the percentage complete for each individual task. Clicking to edit the Task Detail information will download the most current project schedule data file from Procore's servers to the user's local computer. Then the user will be able to work with that schedule file on their computer, using Microsoft Project, Primavera SureTrak or any one of several other popular construction project scheduling applications. With Procore, there is no reason for users to learn to use new construction project scheduling software - they can simply make their changes using the construction software they already use, click "Save" within the application, and then have the edited construction project schedule data file upload automatically back up to Procore's online servers.

Whenever one of the schedule task data points is edited, Procore will require the user to fill in a text box with the reason for the change. Whether or not the user decides not to provide a reason for the schedule change, the Procore User ID, date and time of the schedule change is recorded by Procore in the project database. Procore's unique task change logging feature makes it possible for the entire history of a construction project schedule to be recalled at any time using Procore's Reports page - a feature is not available from other construction project scheduling tools, even from well known vendors such as Microsoft Project and Primavera SureTrak.

Procore also provides users with the ability to view their construction project schedule using filtered views, where only the desired information is displayed on the Project Calendar page. Construction project schedules can be filtered by summary tasks or by resource (i.e., the sub-contractor working on that task). In addition, Procore allows users to search the entire construction project schedule using a standard Search box. Using the Search box, an entire schedule can be searched for every occurrence of any text, such as "plumbing contractor" or "framing". The ability to search the construction project schedule in an instant makes Procore a powerful tool for construction project analysis.

With Procore, the construction project schedule can also be supplemented with "To-Do List" items. These items are not edited by a users construction project management scheduling software, but remain on the Project Calendar Screen within Procore.
