Most construction project management software allows users to only to track the amount of time that their employees work during the day as well as a limited amount of information to keep track of the general work category. In contrast, Procore construction software tracks not only the time, but also a comprehensive record of what work was accomplished, what cost code the work is categorized under, the billable status of the time, and a full description field that allows the notation of what was accomplished.
Used on a daily basis, Procore's timecard tool allows a project superintendent to track both the input to a project (the working hours classified by cost code) and the output on the project (a description of the actual work accomplished). The information recorded in Procore's timecard tool can be used to establish a clear record of productivity. The project superintendent can make use of the timecard data in Procore to review and improve productivity. Employees can be told what level of productivity is expected of them. The project superintendent can refer to the Procore timecard data right at the job site, and then determine the overall productivity level of the project team or an individual employee.
Procore provides an extensive reporting function within the timecard tool. Employees can be organized by timecard group, so that it is simple to view the relative time and productivity of employees in related functions. Time data can be reported for any billable period, or for individual dates within a billing period. In addition, timecard data can be filtered by specific project, by an individual cost cost, or by billable status.
Once timecard data is entered into the Procore construction project management software, there is no need for employees to re-key or re-enter that data to a payroll system. Procore provides an industry-standard Comma Separated Values (CSV) format export capability for all timecard data. Data from Procore can be exported in moments and forwarded to an organization's accounting department for payroll calculation after import into any standard accounting software application.
